hello! my friend told me about this game, and that you're after SNES styled music, I can give you my discord and start working on it for you if you'd like!
Hello! Thank you for dropping by. I have an artist already on my team making music for me, but I am always looking for cool supplemental tracks (healing jingles, theme tunes). Would be interested to see what you can make.
Hi!! The game is great, especially the art, music and effects, all very original! It shows that you have put a lot of dedication and passion into the game. What I stand out the most is its humor and original visual aspect.
I played until I finished the forest with the big tree, it took me 1 hour in total.
I leave you some comments that may help you in the development.
There are some bugs:
- I left "always run" enabled, but if you have that enabled and use the "C" sweep, it doesn't work. You have to keep shift pressed and, when walking, the sweep works, but in slow motion. I guess that's not what you wanted to happen...
- When doing the sweep in the area that you find the monkey (Grasp), you can see the dust through the wall.
- In the boat scene, before you drop down and meet Grise, if you take a long time to scroll through the text of the dialogues, the images with "flying objects" disappear before finishing the natural course.
- Items from the library chest in the first city appear two more squares to the left than they should.
- Now that I've finished, the forest is deactivated, but when I came for the first time, I was supposed to press a switch and run to get through the place covered by the branches. However, I was able to get past them just by jumping, no switch needed... I could get past any of the branches.
Opinions:
- The image that shows the control and the buttons seems a bit annoying to me... it's very big and covers. Could you maybe add some transparency to it?
- The first town seemed very big to me, with so many houses and shops open... maybe they could limit your access to certain places to focus first on what you should go to the forest?
That would be all...
Good luck with the development of the game!
PS: English is not my native language, I used Google translate, but I hope it helps you :P
Thank you so much for playing my game! Your message has been very helpful to me. I didn't know about the forest skip, so I will patch that one up. As for the item rendering in the wrong place, that's because every item renders center screen and sometimes if blepp isnt center screen the item renders out of his hands. It's a janky way I created the system and I have to make something more sustainable. I will definitely trim down the first town because you're not the first one to tell me this haha! Anyway, the other things you've mentioned are already on their way to being fixed. Thanks again!!!
There's a lot of potential here. It's a completely different game from the older demo, the bartering and exploration stands out in a very good way and the art is very polished at this point. I played it with some friends and we had a blast!
A few observations:
The starter town was a bit overwhelming on my first stroll, maybe some central shops can be closed at the very start of the game.
For the amount of exploration/trading/loot I could work with in the dungeon, the monsters and especially boss were a bit easy. I think I'd expect those two things to balance out more.
The high-contrast style is part of the appeal for me, but on some maps it's hard to make out the difference between floor, walls and objects.
Both me and my friend found conversations a little straining to read with the font, but for menus it was fine.
Some bugs:
I don't think you're supposed to be able to jump to this ledge, it allows you to bypass that entire area.
Picking up items (especially flowers) while running or jumping seems to cause the picked up sprite to glitch out. Not sure exactly how it triggered.
I have been waiting so long for someone to play it and give me feedback like this for so so long... thank you! While this demo is intended to be short and have a few bugs here and there I appreciate you for this comment.
I think you're right, the starter town does have a little too much to do at first, but I guess I was just making the town explorable to be kinda fun for anyone to just run around and enjoy haha, but that leads me to think i could make more towns.... and then it's a wrap! Combat right now was added hastily and will be completely revamped coming soon in the next update. Stick around because I've got some huge ideas planned for combat and monster hunting. The high contrast background in the INN is going to be changed for sure, those tiles aren't pleasing to look at in the long term and you kinda lose sight of who you can and can't talk to. Going to fix that part right away.
The ledge is a bug, yes haha. I forgot to make it an illegal jumping region ;)
Picking up items always renders the picked up item center frame instead of on the character, it's a bad system I implemented early so basically if Blepp is on the edges of the map he doesn't hold the items he receives as he gets them. I will fix this, but for now, it's just a little minor graphical error :)
Thank you so much for your well thought-out post and criticisms. I really appreciate you for taking the time to play my game! Stick around, I'll have an update out soon.

The control scheme is really weird.
My suggestion: Make jump, slide, and punch be completely separate buttons, and make them customizable.
Also, the popups in the tutorial are really visually obstructive, there should be some way to hide them.

https://www.youtube.com/@tripletritone4757/videos a portfolio of my music, I've never gone down the SNES path, but I'm learning that now, it shouldn't be too complicated

Neat visuals, is it possible you will make a Linux port?
add a cover image to your project otherwise your game won’t show up!
:O thank you sorry im new lol
